About Hurtigruten
Since 1893, Hurtigruten have been ensuring the communities of Norway have been brought together by their ships, for local transport, post, and cargo.  Ships are small enough to get into small ports, making this a unique experience, but onboard cabins are comfortable, there are dining options, and there are no formal nights to worry about. This is about exploring Norway and the Northern Lights, in a warm and cosy enviroment, with adventures ashore.

The dark skies of winter in Norway form the backdrop for the legendary Northern Lights. Your ship will be your floating observatory; away from light pollution on land and travelling into the Arctic, directly under the consistently active Auroral Oval.

From Norway’s capital Oslo, ride the world’s most famous train, the Flåm Railway, before joining The Coastal Express northbound coastal voyage. Visit charming hamlets, sail through picturesque fjords and hopefully see the magnificent Northern Lights on this journey into the heart of Norway. On arrival into the sleepy town of Kirkenes in Norway’s far north, head south into Finnish Lapland where you’ll see the night sky from inside your glass igloo. Then discover Finnish Lakeland, where you’ll stay in beautiful log accommodation. Take in Helsinki, Finland’s capital, and experience a day trip to medieval Tallinn in Estonia.
